hey guys, thanks for some good words up the line here, but I just "fake it" real good hahahha, there are some cats around here that can make me want to keep my guitar in my case after i hear some of their chops, hahaha.

...but if you want to hear a unique gig, check out this vid where Richard Burton, Jerry Garcia, and Elvis Costello are picking/playing a Merle Tune.

I have no idea where they are at, but its some small hole in the wall dive somewhere and appears to be very improv and non over processed (the raw sound i like), and with plenty of twang to go around.

I like these kinds of vids because you get a real feel of what the guys sound like in the type of rooms and places we play at on a local level.

Poor ole Jerry just cant get the sound he is wanting out of that borrowed rig though, notice how he keeps fiddling with amp and controls. (boy that looks familar) hahaha

Diamond Rio Cool - way back in '83 in a Las Vegas Seagram 7 competition I was in a band that went up against Diamond Rio. Awesome band then and now.

Hank Garland, Jimmy Bryant, Don Rich, Joe Maphis, Pete Anderson, Arlen Roth, Albert Lee, Jim Campilongo, Junior Brown and Brad Paisley. But that leaves out a whole bunch of steel players. Wink

One My favorite Guirtar pickers , I heard playing on the internet
in a chat room...I think his first name was Bobby ..Does that
ring a bell with you Spud?

He was soo good,,,I dont recall now where he was from
He was picking live that night and he was awesome...
He was on Larry Simpson's Show at Sweet southern sounds

But the man I loved to hear play the guitar the most was Harry Todd
known on the internet as the Gitpicker I had never
heard anyone play like Harry...He has a distinct styling
Harry passed away last Oct...His music is still online

I also love Les Paul...and of course Chet Atkins
I like Spud too,,,He is very good Smile

Jim Stafford, hands down (no pun intended). I've had the pleasure of watching this man in action, and it just amazes me how much command he has over the guitar.
