If you could meet one Beatle living or brought back to life for one day which Beatle would you hang wit and why ? Where would you meet ? What would you do ? what questions would you ask ?

Y'know, I think I'd agree. John Lennon has been my role model--good writer (best of the Fab Four), and a competent rhythm guitarist who could sometimes play lead. But if I was going to hang out with one of them, it would be Ringo. He came the closest to being a real person, I think.

I'd hang out with Pete Best.. and all through lunch I would keep saying at random times 'remember when you were in the Beatles' ..

I'd keep doing it until he got really pissed and threaten to kill me if I didn't shut up.. at that point I would look up at him smugly and say 'golly, no wonder they asked you to leave'.

To me it would have to be George Harrison. I have so much respect for him. I think he would be very interesting to talk to and be an all around comfortable guy to be wit.

I think I would meet him at his house and drink tea and then move to beer and smoke cigarettes and then I would see if we could swap wives for the night Cool

George Harrison. I would ask him why he let Clapton take Patti and if they were still just friends or was Layla the walrus? Confused

No question for me--John Lennon. And, again no question, we'd do some drinking and play some music.

I think Macca was the reason they were sucessful because he was the salesman. He also broke them up.Not my fave person now but he was the anchor man of this group. Was a great lead guitar player that never was but played awesome base because the other under achievers would not.George..poor leads..poor vocals. John..early best vocals and input to songs but all went downhill because the coke was his desire. Never a great guitarist. Ringo.. A very poor drummer ,if you listen to other drummers from Mersey in his time.Got the job because the pre drummer was good looking and was the leader of the band.
Best member of the band...Obviously Best.
Why they were sucessful..
Brian Epstien payed for a record deal..and payed people to buy the records at chart shops.
He also payed the top DJ's for plays.
I know of a band who tried to do do this two years ago in Ireland.
They have disbanded a few weeks ago.
They were 45 years too late.

WTF ? Shocked The Beatles have often been trashed for not being good musicians but they are better than anyone I've ever heard on soundclick. George became a great guitar player and singer for that matter. Anyone who has ever listened to Abbey Road could not deny Harrison's guitar work. Now Brenny or anyone else on Soundclik do me a favor and record and sing 'Here comes the sun' and I will compare notes on who is the better guitarist and singer Cool

As for Ringo, I think most would agree he was the perfect fit for the group. Both Harrison and Ringo never got in the way of the music. They enhanced it. That is a talent most musician don't have. God Bless Very Happy

The Beatles were a great live band before they ever made a record--and their first few disks had a huge impact on me. As my old buddy Wayne put it so unforgettably when we were in high school, "They sing like fucking birds, man!"

And in their "second life," they became a brilliant studio band, aided & abetted by the equally brilliant Sir George Martin. If there was ever an instance of the sum being greater than the parts...

You'll never convince me of any individual mediocrity there--but there certainly was a whole lot of serendipity going on musically, culturally & technologically as they moved into the late 60s. I'm just one of the millions who are grateful to have been around when those records were first coming out.

Once apon a time I liked the beatles and listened to their music often, but thats about it. I don't idolize people I've never met, seems like a tabloid obsession to me.
I idolized my uncle john, he could play any instrument, fix any car, build a recroom and always had a smile. Although he died young many years ago, I've never forgot him and miss him to this day
