For my money P90's are the best pup out there. And the big scratchplate on yours seals the deal. Great guitar.

Hi Ron,

It's an SG Junior. SingleP90 pick up. This one's a 1999 model.

Best,
Al

She's quite the looker, how's she sound?

i.e. are there any of your songs that feature the SG?

These are my girls:

I recently gave the Dean acoustic bass (pictured above) to the son of a friend, it was conditional as he gets to keep it as long as he's willing to learn it. And I have my eye on an Alvarez acoustic Bass (my up coming Christmas present). That will give me three nice Alvarez Guitars Wink

This was a Birthday present from my wife (for my 50th)

These are my latest acquisitions. My DeArmond m57 and a Squire Strat with some above average pups and the nicest neck I've found on a Squire.

I also have a red Epiphone 34 SG Bass not pictured. I really need to get them all together for a new photo sometime

Okay, here's an updated photo (a quick snap) of the guitars I have at my house.

All my other gear is at my apartment in Johnstown (Where I work) I'm home for the weekend and wanted to get some recording done while I'm here.

Nice nice nice! what's the Les Paulish Guitar in the 1st pic? I like that DeArmond too. Also what's the 12 string, looks like it really rings.

I was wondering this too. Looks sort of similar to the DeArmond you named in that it's not an archtop, but very different, too. (Three knobs, no pickup selector switch I can see, entirely different headstock and body shape, etc.)

She's very pretty.

The first one "Les Paulish Guitar" is a Dean EVO. Its a bottom of the line hundred dollar guitar with a top of the line neck for playability. I was tempted to drop a couple of hot pups in it as the stock ones are below average. But, I came across this DeArmond with hot pups and a neck even more playable than the EVO. The DeArmond is sweet, and that made me scratch the whole upgrade on the Dean.

The 12 String is an Alvarez AJ 60-SC/12 acoustic/electric. And it does ring out sweetly. But it's my first 12, so I'm still learning on it. Its featured an a solo instrumental piece called "The Wind of Wings" (I'm not promoting it here, I just mentioned that incase you wanted to hear what it sounds like). I believe Marty (2 bit hack) has a similar one if you want to hear someone who knows how to make it ring.

Yes, that's the Dean EVO. If you look closely, what you think is the middle knob, is actually a three way toggle selector switch.

Hey Ron, I've just been checking out your songs and instrumentals and I'm well impressed. Lovely sensitivity and timing, good recording quality, singing, imagination etc etc... And that Alvarez 12 string sounds great.

Nice! One of the things I love is how some brands like Dean, Washburn, B.C. Rich, etc. are so affordable these days. I think it's great that the new generation of players can afford quality right off the bat.

Hey, its what gets me through until I can afford the ones I want. Wink And it's worked so far. When I pick up the Alvarez acoustic bass, I'll have a nice Alvarez collection Very Happy (Just don't tell the wife Embarassed )

Hey Ron,
I just posted a track I did a while ago featuring the SG Junior through a Marshall DSL 50 Head and cab. I wrote this track to describe a terror attack on London a few years ago.

Good sound!

Cheers,
Al

No Ed here today, just yer ol' Skeeter. The ac 2nd from left - one summer a few years back, I played literally every ac guitar hangng in a retail music store in town from $300 - $1000, and I bought this..... a $300 Cort, made in Korea. Sounds decent, plays easily.

No prob - sometimes it's hard to tell the players without a scorecard.

Oh - there's a black deArmond M-65C back and to the right. I like it better than a LP for its shape and contour - similar to that green deArmond earlier in the thread.

Cool collections, Skeeter & Ron!

I, too, have lots of instruments but lately I find that I've been using a specific cluster of instruments. It's sort of like having a band in my head...

Here are some of the slides/steels that I also like to use:
