Do you sleep inside a tree on a pile of nuts? Wink

Thanks for the longboard info earlier. I don't want one for Xmas, though. My nephew has broken just about every bone in his body twice on his skateboard, so I'll pass.

I got a new question - what's the most embarassing thing you've ever done or maybe had done to you?

mmm, I'm not gonna touch that one with a ten foot pole... Wink
I think the answer to a lot of those stories would've been "I would have been embarrassed had I not been high"

Thanks for finally sending this piccy of yourself from the days when you were down and out in Noo Yawk, beating the crap outta Bob Dylan and Jack Kerouac for beer money.

PS Here's something I found in the Garbage Can for ya! Just type in what you'd like her to do (try 'kiss' or better still try 'strip' - I'm sure you can think of something......)

As it's the start of a new month, I'd just like to take this small opportunity to say a big personal thanks to organism right here for giving us all a lot of pleasure, not only in the past, but very notably throughout his outstanding month as Electronica Forum Featured Artist.

In particular - and I'm sure this is echoed by all the guys and gals throughout the forum - I'd like to give mega props to him for all the time and massive effort that he's put into organising the latest big Battle Tournament here. It's quite a logistics nightmare to set up a thing as big as that - and as if that was all that he'd done for the community here (it would be more than enough in itself) he's also still managing to run his own one man Review thread here too selflessly and for the benefit of us all. We should think about that more often in our rush to 'get on'.

It's no light thing to be nominated Featured Artist here. It is earned.

THANK YOU, Miguel - you're a gentleman

The Artist : ethnofobia

Q: What’s the musical history of ethnofobia/sinistry?
Well, umm... as they are both my solo projects, that means my own musical history... so, after years of "listener" status, in October 2000 I started jockeying industrial-noise-darkwave cd’s at a radio. Two hours a week for two years. By the start of 2002, me and my housemate got Propellerheads Reason (version 1) software, forgot all about Magix Music Maker software, and started experiencing with Reason and also his Roland MC-303 Groovebox Smile then in mid-2002, I made a short film as a student to graduate. We produced some loops for the film soundtrack, but I was more interested in digital production than analogue, as it meant less weight in tech knowledge, experience and cost. Reason and Soundforge software was more than enough for me and my concept in music. After further experience with those pieces of software I realized that it was only the tip of the iceberg - they had even more potential than I thought... so, since 2002, I’ve been producing my own music, so then I divided my works into two seperate projects. ethnofobia (not ethnophobia Very Happy ) and S!N!STRY. The former for post-industrial, rhythmic noise, ambient noise etc and the latter for more funky and/or danceable tracks that can be classified as avantguard electro, noise-electronica, industrial-electro, and some EBM with oldschool influences. Thats all for now... I have some other plans but they’re the future, not history yet Very Happy

Q: What equipment/software do you normally use to make music?
A computer... AMD processor, nvidea sound card and cheesy headphones... I’m gonna get less cheesy ones soon, ‘cos these ones have started to add a "my dog likes chewing cables" effect recently... Software includes: Propellerheads Reason, Soundforge for editing recorded or "borrowed" samples and Acid...

Q: Do you have a favourite instrument either as a player or as an appreciator?
Any kind of percussion including non-musical sounds like glass, metal, plastic... especially strange metal sounds appeal to me much - from tin cans to hammer-on-steel... nope... I really don’t have a favourite traditional acoustic instrument... maybe voice... ‘cos it’s the only thing I play myself...

Q: What was your first stage and/or studio experience like?
If including the radio, not bad... just assisted someone for an hour, then came back later with my own cd’s and started playing and talking once in a while. Very Happy (I was a radio-tv-film student anyway. Razz ) I was a bit worried about talking, ‘cos I’m a bit shy, but it was ok as long as I think I’m alone there. Very Happy My first stage experience was in a project band before 2002... I was the vocalist and we started as a synth-goth-industrial band to cover some iconic tracks from 80’s pop music... i.e: Venus, Locomotion, Vogue, Sweet Dreams etc. then it turned into a punk-metal band with the lack of a keyboardist, and the influences of other band members. Then we had to prepare four tracks for a festival, and it ended up as two "covers of covers" of tracks from the 80’s, and two cheesy grunge-punk tracks Very Happy so it was a failure and a nightmare...

Q: If we were to "shadow" you on a typical day, what might we do?
Yeah, it would be pretty boring for you in these days... Very Happy You have to sit in front of my PC and stare at the monitor...

/ continues........
